A Little Black Magic And Stevie Nicks

Channeling my inner Stevie Nicks, I layered some black on a dark gypsy look. I can not get enough of last layer. In sharp contrast to my light fe layer , it looks dark in the middle of a sunny late summer's day. Without being blatantly goth, my black magic woman look is comfortable and feminine with a touch of mystery.

Breaking all the old rules are my thing lately. I remember when we would not dare wear black with navy. After trying it, I found that I love contrast. It is liberation that try things you thought you ought not do. And is not that what fashion is about: defy all these concepts tell us that we are too old for pale, too fat, too shy or what to wear anything?

This layer look is an example of how to style a maxi dress for autumn .  Fortunately, you do not need black magic to take your favorite summer looks in fall. little quality time in your closet goes a long way.

Here are a couple of vintage Stevie Nicks photos for added inspiration. Besides her beautiful singing voice, Nicks has always been known for her ethereal style. I love the style she hugged-bohemian, gypsy, gothic, romantic, it's all in there.

Some of my favorite Stevie Nicks / Fleetwood Mac songs are Gypsy, landslides, The highwayman, The Chain, Gold Dust Woman and Rhiannon. Good stuff!
