Catching up with Project Runway – Joanna Coles & Betsey Johnson Visit

I have some catching up to do on the front of Project Runway. Remember to check back to life this Thursday, August 19 at 9:00 p.m. EST. In the meantime, here are some highlights from the previous two challenges.

The challenge on the second episode of the eighth season was to design for the modern woman Marie Claire, and guest judge wasa Joanna Coles, editor of Marie Claire magazine. said photographic element makes this unique challenge. I loved Mondo photo panel, a model was a great expression Mondo said he was inspired by Mary Tyler Moore.

In this challenge, the designers had to keep in mind that every detail counted as design would be comparing the 20-feet, if chosen for the first three designs billboard. The picture above was designed by (from left to right) Valerie, Gretchen, and Mondo. For the second straight week, Gretchen has been declared the winner. show. appeared more striking on the billboard, and I would probably wear it before I would wear the design of Gretchen, but I would wear two garments, and I appreciate the aesthetic design of Gretchen. I would also like to see Mondo win. The losers of this challenge, and yes, two of our designers have been submitted Alvederzane, A were Jason and Nicolas, whose designs are shown below. Jason in particular missed the boat with the gaping hole that showed the photo he chose for the challenge. (This is not visible on the photo here).

Week three designers have the opportunity to meet one of my favorite designers of my own hometown of Wethersfield, Connecticut, Mrs. Betsey Johnson. The challenge was to develop a design from items in a store party, and stay away from materials that are too similar to the fabric, like sheets. Instead, we said goodbye to Sarah, who probably deserved another chance, and also probably should not have listened Gretchen Johnson feedback.

Betsey accessories given to both Brendan and AJ, whose drawings are presented above. She loved the spirit and fun design of AJ, but said she wished he had taken his vision even further. The judges were less fond of AJ dress, but did so as a necklace. This was further surprised challenge's they also create an accessory.  AJ felt some pressure added to good results in this challenge that the concept was closer to his personal style and a few pieces in her portfolio, and all the other designers. I think the pressure became to him and he talked a mile a minute in his nervousness, IA Michael enjoyed running commentary on how AJ is not closed up. Although judges can not be separated as Gretchen, the winner of this challenge was Andy. The picture below (left - right) are winners Andy and Sarah loses dress dress.
